In early 2025, Cairns local, Wazaga Miskin joined the Wuchopperen Health Services Youth and Family Services Team undertaking practical work experience for his Certificate IV in Community Services.

Wazaga’s 4-week work placement with the Youth Team, provided him with invaluable experience working under the mentorship of Jamie Gibson and the dedicated Youth and Family Services team.

During his placement, Wazaga showed a deep commitment to supporting young people and families. His engagement with the team was impressive, and his eagerness to learn was evident from the start.

Wazaga participated in various aspects of service delivery, acquiring practical skills that are essential for supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. His hands-on experience in youth and family support and case management processes will serve him well as he progresses in his career.
