Under the ‘Happy Healthy Families (HHF)’ banner SEWB team members target groups with related programs that aim to break the cycle of social norms of family and domestic violence. Meeting the needs of those families requiring immediate and rapid solution/resolution and assistance, forms a major part of the work. Referrals can be received from within Wuchopperen’s health services, from external sources including concerned family members as well as self-referral.
Clients may also present as walk-ins to Wuchopperen, usually with immediate needs of assistance that include: crisis accommodation, assistance with forms and one-off advocacy and liaison support.
All clients are introduced to all members of the SEWB team to ensure they have continuity of care. Case meetings are held daily, weekly, and monthly and focus on the clients’ general wellbeing as well as evaluating case plans, shared community service provider responsibilities and evaluating developments and follow up actions. These meetings also provide direction for staff to strengthen best practice.
Wuchopperen acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land and pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging, the holders of our culture, memories, tradition and hopes.
