Children and Family Services

Family Wellbeing Service (FWB)

Wuchopperen’s Family Wellbeing service is based at the Manoora facility and works with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people safe and connected during a difficult time in their lives.

Children and Family Wellbeing Services are available in Cairns, Innisfail, and the Atherton Tablelands.

Children and Family Centre (CFC)

Term 4 Timetable for CFC Activities, 2024.

Located at the Mangrove building in Manoora, the Children and Family Centre provides integrated services for early childhood education and care, family and parenting support, and child and maternal health.

The Children and Family Centre offers family support to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander mums, dads and kids.

Our skilled support team is made up of family support workers, early childhood educators and a child health worker who work alongside families through one-on-one home visiting, family support, parenting strategies, school advocacy, linking in with community agencies and the wider Wuchopperen community.

Connected Beginnings

Connected Beginnings Community Engagement Team aims to provide outreach and help support greater school attendance, health and cultural safety issues so our kids are safe, healthy and ready to thrive by the age of five.

Bookings for all programs and playgroups are required so please contact us.

Home Interaction Program for Parents & Youngsters (HIPPY)

The Home Interaction Program for Parents and Youngsters (HIPPY) is a fun, free, home-based early learning and parenting program.

HIPPY welcomes mums, dads, grandparents and carers as we help support and empower you as your child’s first teachers, strengthening your connections to the local community, expand your networks and knowledge around local resources.

It works with families with young children in the pre-school years.

HIPPY is offered from Gordonvale to Northern Beaches.
